Today, i received a very encouraging feedback from one of my students and also my client!  She was quite lost when i first met up with her for a 4 Pillars of Destiny (Bazi) consultation.  It’s quite common that clients are seeking for advice in improving their current situation.  After provided her the necessary advises, things get better slowly.  She then enrolled and attended my QM Forecasting, Decision Making, Strategy Planning & Execution, and QM Destiny classes in late 2016, she has been practising what she has learnt quite rigorously.  I have been seeing her improvement since then.  On 28th Dec, 2016, I went over to her home to perform a Feng Shui audit and recommended few changes in her home, and she comes back with her encouraging feedback as follows:

Brief Introduction to learning QMDJ

QMDJ stands for Qi Men Dun Jia, literally translated to Mysterious Door in Hiding the Grand Marshall. It’s an ancient Chinese war strategy only used by the emperors, kings, grand marshals, war advisers, chancellors and prime ministers.  One of the most notable person is ZhuGe Liang (诸葛亮) in the Three Kingdoms war time. He had used QMDJ very successfully to win almost every battles as written in many ancient books.

The following are some popular stories in Three Kingdoms:.

  • Three visits to the thatched cottage by Liu Bei
  • Battle of Bowang
  • Zhuge Liang’s diplomatic mission to Jiangdong
  • Borrowing arrows with straw boats
  • Zhuge Liang prays for the eastern wind
  • Battle of Jiameng Pass
  • Battle of Xiaoting
  • Meng Huo captured and released seven times
  • Empty fort strategy

The QMDJ study is primarily focused on the 10 Stems, Namely, Jia (Yang Wood), Yi (Yin Wood), Bing (Yang Fire), Ding (Yin Fire), Wu (Yang Earth), Ji (Yin Earth), Geng (Yang Metal), Xin (yin Metal), Ren (Yang Water) and Gui (Yin Water).

We use the stems to perform our analysis in the QM forecasting.

In the QM Forecasting, we use a QM hour chart to forecast any matters an asker wanted to find its possible outcome, problem and solution. A QM hour chart is a chart that plotted out per the time of the day. Once the chart is plotted, we will look for the location of where the Hour Stem and Day Stem move to in the 8 palaces.

 

Once we determine the location of the Hour Stem and Day Stem, we will then find out the relationship between these two locations of the Hour Stem and Day Stem.  There are basically few types of palace relationship:

1. Produced in
2. Same element
3. Produces out
4. Counters/Controls out
5. Countered/Controlled in

with Day Stem as the reference point and Hour Stem as the target.
Eg:
1. Day Stem is produced in by Hour Stem
2. Day Stem is a same element with the Hour Stem
3. Day Stem produces out the Hour Stem
4. Day Stem counters/controls out the Hour Stem
5. Day Stem is countered/controlled in by the Hour Stem

Why do we need to understand the palace relationship between the Day Stem and Hour Stem?
Ans: The palace relationship can help us to determine whether the outcome is an easy/favourable outcome, or difficult/unfavourable outcome. Produced in and Same Element are generally more favourable than Counters out and Countered in.

QMDJ is similar to Chess Game

The study of QMDJ is quite similar to the Chess Game, where the King is a very important master piece!  In QMDJ, The Jia is the King or Grand Marshall, who is protected by 3 Nobles, namely, Yi, Bing and Ding.  To identify the Jia in the QM Hour Chart, it’s beneficial to understand the 60 Jia Zi Table as shown.

The table shows in which Stem that the Jia (King or Grand Marshall) can hide inside also known as Lead Stem.  There are total of 6 Stems that the Jia can hide, namely, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren and Gui.  These 6 Stems are also called as “6 Crescents”. Once the Jia hides in anyone of the 6 Crescents, that Stem will assume the Authority/Command and become very powerful!  It’s always great to have the Authority with us during the forecasting, because we hold the trump card and the outcome is usually favourable to us!

Business Forecast using QMDJ case#10

As introduced in the previous post of What Qi Men Dun Jia (QMDJ) is?  One of its modern applications is business condition forecasting.  We can use this technique to make an important decision for running the business smoothly.

Below is one of the cases that my clients asked:

Question: My client asked whether should she continue her current business?

In forecasting, we will usually look into the Day stem (asker or client in this case) and the Hour stem (focal point).

The Day stem Xin (辛) in the N palace controls the Hour stem Wu (戊) in the South palace.  Stem Wu in the business forecasting, represents the cash flow.  Unfortunately, the stem Wu resides in the void situation, together with DDeath door.  Both are inauspicious for business forecasting, which represents the client has been suffering cash flow problem.  The situation gets worse when the stem Wu paired up with Earth stem Ren, that represents the client is stuck and helpless in resolving the issue.

In the QMDJ forecasting, we can also look for the possible solutions to the client’s problem.  The client can use the latest social media in promoting her business, learning few new styles that suit the current trend.  Getting someone who was born in the year of 1975, 1985 and 1995 in promoting the business will bring in better result.  If this can be done in May, the business can see a turning point after June 6th.

This is the unique power of QMDJ forecasting, in addition to the understanding of the issue, it can help provide the necessary solutions in improving the situation.
